Braces

Braces

Braces are one of the most popular orthodontic treatments that address teeth misalignment concerns and restore your smile. People of all ages can opt for this procedure. All you need to do is to walk into our clinic and consult with our dentist, and after examining the condition of your teeth, we will design the best treatment plan involving braces for you.

What are Braces?

Braces are oral appliances used to straighten your teeth to improve their overall appearance. Traditionally, braces were made using a metal wire that our dentist would attach to your teeth. But with the advancements in medical science, various other types of braces have been introduced to give you a more natural appearance.

Why Opt for Braces Treatment?

Our dentist may suggest you wear braces for many reasons. If your teeth are crooked or crowded, the use of braces will help to align them to their suitable positions, thereby offering you an even smile. Braces are also recommended for people with bite problems.

Some people have their prominent teeth (upper front teeth) out. It not only affects their appearance but also causes difficulty closing the mouth. A suitable orthodontic treatment involving braces helps move them back in line. In some instances, we may also recommend their use for gapped teeth. Braces help in shifting your teeth towards the empty space, thereby gradually closing the gap.

What Does the Procedure Include?

We will examine your teeth and may also take an X-ray to check the condition of your teeth. After checking the X-ray and dental examination, we will discuss what kind of treatment you may require.

Sometimes, we may also have to extract one or more teeth to create space in the mouth to fit the braces. We may suggest the use of fixed braces to treat the condition of your crooked teeth. During the treatment, we will ask you to visit our clinic frequently for the proper fitting of the wires as your teeth begin to move. We may also recommend plastic or ceramic braces to increase your cosmetic appeal.

We will complete the procedure in 2-4 sittings. You will also be given important directions to maintain the hygiene of your mouth after the procedure. Do not eat anything that sticks into the wires. If not cleaned properly, it may house bacteria and then lead to tooth decay. You may be given a special type of toothbrush to clean your mouth after the application of braces.
